God Honoring Diversity

This week in beginnings we talked about diversity, and how to treat others who are different than us. I think that the topic in beginnings was good and really opened my eyes on how others may feel. I also think that both of the speakers were really good and had some great things to say that I can apply to my life. I also thought that the video where the APU students and faculty was interviewed was really good and very eye opening. I wouldn't think that some of the stuff they said was happening on a christian campus, but then I thought about how no person or place is perfect.
I believe that each person is diverse and even though some people may seem so similar there is at least one thing that sets a person apart from everyone else. I love the fact that there are all kinds of different people in the world. I would hate it if everyone was similar and looked or acted the same, I believe that the world would be really boring if that was the case. I believe that God loves how all of us are different and we as people should love it to.
Overall I thought that this weeks beginnings class was very informative and educational about how to treat others who are different and even similar. God loves everyone and we are called to as well.

Global Vision

This week in beginnings we talked about Global Vision, and missions. We talked about how God would like everyone to go out and spread His word to everyone; even those who have not heard it before. I believe that as Christians we are all called to go out and preach Gods word, and I feel that each person is called to a different place where they can do the most work. I thought that the verses that were given to us in beginnings were great and they really proved the point that were are all called to missions. I also think that the speaker did a really good job on emphasizing the word all in the verses. I really liked how the speaker talked about and used examples from verses about how everyone deserves to hear the word of God no matter what religion they are or where their location is.
I personally have never been on a missions trip but I have a really close friend who goes on one almost every year. He has been to Africa, China, and even England. When he returns to the U.S. he always tells us about the amazing people that he met and how they are all so happy to hear the word of God. He also told us that one of the places that he went to they rarely get to hear the word, and when they do they are so grateful. this made all of us think how lucky we are to be living in a country that we can hear the word everyday, and how much we take that for granted. For me personally I am eager to see where God is calling me to go.
